New Delhi: The Centre is confident of taking the women's reservation bill to its logical conclusion as the bill is set to get support from nearly all the political parties.

The Constitution (128th Amendment) Bill is slated for consideration and passage in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday. It is likely to be taken up in the Rajya Sabha on Thursday. After the passage of the bill by both the Houses of Parliament, one half of state legislatures will need to approve the bill.

The implementation exercise could begin only after the census exercise is completed. Post-census, delimitation will be carried out and thereafter constituencies will be selected for women candidates. With Opposition and fence sitters such as BJD, BRS and YSRCP set to support this bill, it is likely to be passed with two-third majority in both the Houses and state legislatures.
