AMETHI: The Centre has proposed a host of schemes, including the National Automatic Testing and Research Development and Infrastructure Project, a residential school for minority students and a Sainik School, for Amethi, the Lok Sabha constituency of Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi.

According to Amethi District Magistrate Jagat Raj Tripathi, the administration was busy selecting land for the projects.

The National Automatic Testing and Research Development and Infrastructure Project will come up in Trishundi, the residential school for minority students near Jais, and the Sainik School near Kauhar in Gauriganj block.

A hotel management institute will be set up near Rahi Hotel in Jagdishpur industrial area, a central school and extension of Rajiv Gandhi Petroleum Institute near Bahadurpur and an ordinance project on HAL's Korwa campus. A paper mill will also come up in Jagdishpur.

The Congress vice president is scheduled to visit his Amethi constituency on February 19.
