Centre not interfering on Governors' issue: Margaret Alva
JAIPUR: Brushing aside the controversy over removal of UPA-appointed governors by the Central government, Rajasthan Governor Margaret Alav said there was no interference in Governors' issue by the centre.

"No such issue. There is no interference in governors' issues by the Centre", Alva told reporters on sidelines of a function here.

"Though some of the governors resigned ahead of finishing their terms...it is up to each one of them on how they deal with it. It is a constitutional post," she added.

"I finish with my term on August 5, 2014, and before which I will reach Bangalore..before that I will meet press too", Alva said.

Last week when the Rajasthan Governor met the President and Prime Minister in the national capital, Raj Bhawan had issued a statement saying that it was Alva's "planned courtesy call" and she has not received any directive or phone call to quit office.
