NEW DELHI: After staging vociferous protests in both the Houses over the Arunachal Pradesh issue, Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha, Ghulam Nabi Azad, charged the Centre and the governor with “making the sensitive border state of Arunachal Pradesh vulnerable”. The Congress also hinted at the possibility of resorting to legal course against the governor’s controversial conduct.

“Through this unprecedented unconstitutional conduct of the central government and the governor, they are making our sensitive border state vulnerable. If the situation goes out of control in Arunachal Pradesh due this undemocratic conduct, the Congress will squarely hold the central government responsible for the situation,” Azad said at a press conference.

Pointing out that within a fortnight of the Centre holding a Parliament session on the 125th birth anniversary of BR Ambedkar where MPs reaffirmed their faith in the Constitution, Azad alleged “the Modi government has resorted to making a mockery of the very Constitution in Arunachal Pradesh”.
