Centre announces additional measures for states to effectively implement lockdown restrictions
The Centre has asked the state governments to ensure that the migrant workers are provided adequate food and temporary shelters till the lockdown restrictions are in place.

1. Ensure provision of temporary shelters and adequate supply of food for the poor and needy people, including migrant labourers, stranded due to lockdown measures in their respective areas.
2. State government should ensure that those migrant people who have moved out to reach their homes are kept in the nearest shelter home after a 14-day quarantine following standard health protocol.
3. For the period of lockdown, all employers will continue to pay regular wages to their workers on the due date without any deductions.
4.Landlords will not demand payment of rents from migrants/workers for a period of one month.
5. If any landlord forces migrant laboueres/students out of their rented accomodation, action will be taken against him under the Disaster Management Act.
