Centre expects trouble in Kashmir, orders forces to gear up
NEW DELHI: The Centre has asked the security forces in Kashmir to step up efforts as it expects trouble in the valley on July 13 which is commemorated as martyr’s day and Friday when large congregation is expected for prayers.

In his meeting with MHA officials, PM Narendra Modi is believed to have raised queries regarding undue publicity being given to death of a militant that has led to worsening of the situation in the valley. Foreign secretary S Jaishankar is said to have briefed the PM about Pakistan’s response to Wani’s death, including the statement issued by Pakistan PM Nawaz Sharif, and meeting between JuD chief Hafiz Saeed and HM commander Syed Salahudeen.

An assessment carried out by security agencies says that Pakistan may try to stir further trouble with the help of local groups in next two days. According to data available with the MHA, there were no fresh incidents of violence reported on Tuesday. Wani, according to J&K police was wanted in 12 cases.
