Central Vigilance Commission not keen to come under Lokpal
CVC on Saturday indicated it did not want to come under Lokpal but work closely with the proposed anti-corruption ombudsman.
"We are formulating our reply to the (parliamentary) Standing Committee to be given on September 7," said CVC R Sri Kumar here on the sidelines of a panel discussion organised by Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
"We want existing institutions to be strengthened and offer greater empowerment and a mechanism for working in close cooperation with Lokpal and state level Lokayuta," Sri Kumar said.
He said there should also be institutions to check private corruption. "We need more transparency, empowerment, technology and mutual cooperation to build a team India."
