Central and southeast India record temperature above 40 degree Celsius: IMD
As per the IMD data, several places, majority of them in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu have recorded temperatures over 40 degree.

According to IMD, heatwave conditions are currently prevailing in west and east Madhya Pradesh, Vidharbha region of Maharashtra, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha and Gangetic West bengal, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, East and west Rajasthan, Telangana, Rayalseema region of Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
Heatwave conditions are expected in Marathwada and central part of Maharashtra.
Skymet, a private weather forecasting agency said Titalgarh in Odisha has recorded 45.5 degree Celsius.
As per the IMD data, several places, majority of them in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu have recorded temperatures over 40 degree.
"At present, heatwave conditions are prevailing in pockets of Maharashtra, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh and Karnataka. Temperatures continue to break records at several places," Skymet said.
Until now, heat wave has so far claimed 35 lives in Telangana, according to an official report yesterday, while in Odisha, 30 people reportedly died of sunstroke.
