CEC likelt to visit Mizoram early Nov: Ashwani Kumar

AIZAWL: Chief Election Commissioner V S Sampath, two election commissioners and top officials of the Election Commission are likely to visit Mizoram in the first week of November, Chief Electoral Officer Ashwani Kumar said today.

Though written confirmation is yet to be received, the full Election Commission is scheduled to visit the state on November 5 and 6 to oversee the preparedness of the state election machinery for the rescheduled state assembly polls on November 25, Kumar said.

The EC has yet to visit the state after the announcement of the elections.

Security arrangements and other poll related issues would be discussed with the officials during the ECI visit, Kumar said.
