CBI wrote to DDCA asking for audited accounts report
NEW DELHI: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had written to the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) on December 14, asking the cricket body to provide audited accounts for the April 2013 to March 2014 period. CBI had initiated a preliminary inquiry in the DDCA matter in October. Interestingly, CBI raided Delhi government offices the day after the letter was written, December 15.

CBI had raided the CM’s office in connection with its investigations into allegations against Rajendra Kumar, principal secretary to Kejriwal. DDCA had received the CBI letter on December 15.

The CM had alleged the CBI raid was aimed at recovering papers related to DDCA. CBI had strongly denied this claim and continues to maintain that position.

Kejriwal and other Aam Aadmi Party leaders went on to level charges against Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, who had been a DDCA office bearer. The FM had refuted the charges and filed defamation suits against AAP leaders. The Prime Minister, the home minister and the BJP president, among others, have strongly come out in support of Jaitley.
