CBI unearths around Rs 2000 crore worth of assets of Pearls Group

NEW DELHI: The Central Bureau of Investigation probing the multicrore ponzi scheme claimed on Thursday that they have identifed prime properties worth around Rs 2000 crore belonging to Pearls group, accused of Rs 45,000 crores scam.

The questioning of Nirmal Singh Bhangoo, owner of Pearls group revealed details of these properties.

CBI said Golden Palm Hotel in Calangute and another Golden Palm Hotel and Spa in Colava areas of tourist haven Goa, Pearls Business Park and Pearls Omaxe in Pitampura, Pearls Corporate in Rohini in the New Delhi are owned by Bhangoo.

Besides agriculture land of around 800 acres near Bengaluru with the aim of developing Pearls Township, 37 residential plots and commercial properties in Gurgaon and 50 residential and comemrcial properties in Punjab were also allegedly purchased by the group, CBI claimed.
