CBI searches residences of retired Vyapam officials

CBI carried out searches at seven residential premises of former supervisors of Vyapam examinations who had allegedly tampered answer sheets of some candidates.

The Central Bureau of Investigation on Saturday conducted searches at seven residential premises of suspects in Bhopal in an on-going investigation of Vyapam related cases pertaining to Transport Constable Recruitment Examination 2012 and the Pre-Medical Test 2012.

According to CBI, the accused persons had acted as supervisors in Vyapam for the examinations and had allegedly played a role in the tampering of the OMR sheets of some candidates who were fraudulently made to pass the said two examinations.

The agency also carried out searches at the premise of a candidate in the Police Constable Recruitment Examination 2012 at Jawra, district Morena ( Madhya Pradesh). The agency also said that they have seized incriminating documents during the searches

CBI took over the investigations into Vyapam scam last year in September and have so far registered more than 100 cases including the suspected deaths related to scam. There are more than 2,000 accused who are under the scanner of the agency.
