CBI reveals money trail in DA case against Himachal Pradesh CM Virbhadra Singh
CBI alleged Virbhadra Singh took help from businessman V Chandrashekhar to cover up his ill-gotten wealth worth Rs 5.90 crore.

Chandrashekhar, who has business interest in Himachal, showed the money as unsecured loans given to Singh and his family members, but could not give any plausible explanation of the purpose of the loans and later admitted that the money belonged to Singh, alleged CBI officials who examined him.
Out of Rs 5.90 crore, Rs 2.40 crore were paid to Singh, Rs 1.50 crore to his wife Pratibha, and Rs 2 crore to his son Vikramaditya, sleuths said.
Singh later claimed before the authorities the loan was taken for renovation of his Rampur palace, they alleged. However, in their preliminary enquiry, CBI found Singh had assets worth Rs 20 crore in bank balance and fixed deposits, and there was no need for any kind of unsecured loan, they claimed. The CM has denied the allegations.
