CBI registers case against Jharkhand Ispat

NEW DELHI: The CBI on Monday registered a case against Jharkhand Ispat for alleged irregularities in allotment of coal blocks and booked the company’s chairman R S Rungta, managing director R C Rungta, and other directors along with some unknown persons.

CBI on Monday conducted raids at 11 places on Monday at the factory premises and offices of the company and residences of its directors. “Various documents and other evidence have been recovered during the searches. The case has been registered in connection with the allegations related to getting coal blocks allocated on the basis of misrepresentations and false claims,” the CBI said in a statement.
