CBI raids Babu Singh Kushwaha's residence in Lucknow in NRHM scam

LUCKNOW: The CBI has raided 60 premises, including the residence of former BSP minister Babu Singh Kushwaha, in the multi-crore National Rural Health Mission scam.

Kushwaha, who was the family welfare minister in Mayawati's government, had joined the BJP on Tuesday. CBI officers descended on Kushwaha's house in Lucknow early in the morning in his absence.

They questioned his wife and daughter for three hours. The investigating agency has stepped up its probe into the scandal as the state gears up for elections next month.

CBI teams also carried out simultaneous raids in seven cities, including Delhi.
