CBI pressured to file fresh charge-sheet: P. Chidambaram
Congress leader Anand Sharma defended his former colleague by the terming CBI's move as a "Witch-hunt."

"Charge-sheet filed to support a preposterous allegation against me," stated P. Chidambaram.
He also said that the charge-sheet is an attempt to malign his public image. Referring to the two officers whose names have also featured in charge-sheet, he said the officers were known for their 'sterling reputation'.
Chidambaram said the case is now before a court and it will be "vigorously" contested. "I shall make no more public comment," he said.
The senior Congress leader's role had come under the scanner of investigating agencies in the Aircel-Maxis deal of Rs 3,500 crore and INX Media case involving Rs 305 crore.
