CBI knocks at judicial doors, AAP terms it 'farce'
NEW DELHI: The Aam Aadmi Party today termed as "farce" CBI's contention that it needs the documents seized during a raid at the Delhi Secretariat and suggested that the agency has put forth its arguments at the behest of the "Prime Minister's Office".

The raids and the subsequent probe are primarly aimed at "destabilising" the Delhi government, senior leader Ashutosh told reporters at a press conference here.

He said that yesterday's Special Court order, directing the CBI to return some documents seized by it during the raids at the office of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's Principal Secretary Rajendra Kumar, had "vindicated" AAP's stand.

"Can there be a bigger farce than this? CBI has failed to relate its seizures to the so-called probe against Principal Secretary Rajendra Kumar. Now somebody high up, at 7 RCR or the PMO, wants to continue the farce," Ashutosh told reporters.

"The Centre is trying to destabilise the city government by misusing constitutional authorities. The fact that Kejriwal was the real target has been established once and for all," he said.

CBI today moved the Delhi High Court against the Special Court's direction.

The agency submitted that it cannot give documents to somebody who is not related to the case and that witnesses are yet to be examined in the case, "so, the documents are necessary for us."
