CBI getting help from SFIO in chit fund, bank fraud cases

Minister of State for Personnel, Pensions and Public Grievances said officers from different banks, who are already working in CBI also help in probing these cases.

NEW DELHI: CBI is taking help from officials of Serious Fraud Investigation Office in its probe into multi-crore chit fund scams and alleged loan defaults in Public Sector Bank, Rajya Sabha was informed today.

Minister of State for Personnel, Pensions and Public Grievances Jitendra Singh said officers from different banks, who are already working in CBI also help in probing these cases.

"CBI has been taking assistance from Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) for the investigation of multi-crore chit fund scams and alleged loan defaults...CBI has advertised for filling up the posts of Sr Advisors (Foreign Trade/Foreign Exchange) and Sr Advisor (Taxation) of deputation basis," he said.
