CBI gets new Special Director

Anil Kumar Sinha, a 1979-batch IPS from Bihar cadre has joined as Special Director in the Central Bureau of Investigation.

NEW DELHI: Anil Kumar Sinha, a 1979-batch IPS from Bihar cadre has joined as Special Director in the Central Bureau of Investigation.

Sinha was earlier additional secretary, Central Vigilance Commission before taking up the new assignment.

He held several important positions in his state cadre in Vigilance and Anti Corruption, Administration, Special Branch and other Divisions as SP, DIG, IG & ADG.

He served as Additional Director General of Police of Law and order.

"He has been associated with investigations of a number of sensitive cases, including a large number of trap cases and Disproportionate Assets cases against corrupt public servants that ended in convictions of the accused persons and also in confiscation of their ill gotten property," CBI spokesperson said here today.

A post-graduate in psychology and M.Phil in strategic studies, Sinha has served in Special Protection Group and has been decorated with the Police Medal for Meritorious Service in 2000 and the President's Police Medal for Distinguished Service in 2006.
