The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday filed a chargesheet in the death of Dhanbad Additional District Judge Uttam Anand.

The agency has said that the death of the Judge was a pre- planned killing and not an accident. The CBI has charged two accused, the auto rickshaw driver Lakhan Verma and his alleged accomplice Rahul Verma, and also charged them for disappearance of evidence.

The agency has said that it is probing the angle of larger conspiracy, said people with direct knowledge of the matter.

The CBI last month had informed the Jharkhand High Court that the judge's death was intentional and its investigation, so far, indicated that the driver of a three-wheeler goods carrier steered his vehicle to hit the 49-year-old judge on the morning of July 28.
