'CBI, ED probe more than satisfactory'

Justices Singhvi and Ganguly expressed satisfaction with the work of the two investigative agencies, inquired about requirement of additional manpower and warned against any interference in the probe.

NEW DELHI: While Tamil Nadu CM M Karunanidhi's daughter Kanimozhi is likely to be chargesheeted by the CBI in connection with the 2G scam, it is almost certain that tainted former telecom minister A Raja, his former personal secretary R K Chandolia, former telecom secretary Siddharth Behura and DB Reality chief Shahid Balwa — who have already been arrested - will be charged in the scam on April 2.

The CBI informed the Supreme Court that Raja's brother Dr A Ramachandran had also been questioned. Interestingly, Raja's family doctor had bought properties worth Rs 3.3 crore during the proximate period of the scam, it said.

Justices Singhvi and Ganguly expressed satisfaction with the work of the two investigative agencies, inquired about requirement of additional manpower and warned against any interference in the probe.

"The CBI and ED have so far done more than satisfactory work," the bench said.
