NEW DELHI: CBI director Anil Sinha on Monday said that to help the agency probe complex financial crimes like 2G scam, coal block irregularities, ponzi schemes and capital market scams, the agency has sent a proposal to establish a Centralised Technology Vertical (CTV) within CBI. The CTV will provide real time support to investigations with access to data warehouses, equipped with big data analytics, data mining tools.

"These investigations invariably require in-house cutting edge technology tools and certified professionals, which are presently lacking," he said. Sinha has also proposed to the government to set up an International Centre of Excellence in Investigation to be located at CBI Academy Campus, Ghaziabad. ICEI-CBI would offer training to investigators and prosecutors of CBI, central law enforcement agencies and state police organisations to improve standards of Investigation.
