A CBI court today convicted 23 accused in the fodder scam and acquitted ten others on benefit of doubt in connection with RC54 A/96.

RANCHI: A CBI court today convicted 23 accused in the multicrore rupees fodder scam and acquitted ten others on benefit of doubt in connection with RC54 A/96.

The Special CBI court found four ex-treasury officials and employees and 19 suppliers guilty of fraudulently withdrawing Rs 7.06 crore from Doranda Treasury between 1981 and 1990.

Delivering the judgment, CBI judge B K Gautam pronounced varying prison sentences from three years to five years against them.

He acquitted four former treasury officials and employees and six fodder suppliers.

It was the 47th out of the total 54 fodder cases shifted to Ranchi courts in the scam ending in conviction.
