CBI court dismisses plea to make Nitish Kumar accused in fodder scam
CBI court today dismissed a petition that sought making Nitish and Shivanand accused in the multi-crore fodder scam case.
RANCHI: A special CBI court today dismissed a petition that sought making Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and JDU leader Shivanand Tiwari accused in the multi-crore fodder scam case.
Special CBI court judge Sitaram Prasad quashed the petition of a social worker as "it had no merit".
The social worker, Mithilesh Singh, had filed the petition, seeking to make Kumar and Tiwari accused in the fodder case on the ground that one of the witnesses had purportedly recorded his statement against the two leaders.
The Rs 950 crore fodder scam was unearthed during the undivided Bihar regime in 1996 and RJD Supremo Lalu Prasad is facing charges in five among the total 53 cases.
