No one in CBI deserves a hearing: Supreme Court

"Not one of you deserves a hearing," a three judge bench led by Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi said.

CBI bribery case adjourned till November 29 by Supreme Court
NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Tuesday abruptly adjourned the Alok Verma case hearing till November 29, saying that no one in the case deserved a hearing.

"Not one of you deserves a hearing," a three judge bench led by Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi said.

His fellow judge Sanjay Kishan Kaul said that it's difficult to have a hearing "with everyone snooping on everyone".

The court at the outset took umbrage to a website publishing response of Verma to the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC). The bench drew senior advocate Fali S Nariman's attention to Verma's response to CVC which was published.

Nariman said that the press not only be free but also responsible and disowned any link to the links.

At another short hearing the CJI called Nariman and again handed over some more newspaper reports which had published DIG MK Sinha's allegations against the minister of state for coal, the former law secretary and NSA Ajit Doval.

"We asked the lawyer to be present today but that report is in all newspapers," justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul said. The CJI stuck to his position that he would not hear the case any further till November 29.
