CBI arrests Indian Oil Corporation official in graft case
An Indian Oil Corporation official has been arrested in Ambala for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 6000 for giving green cards for oil tankers.
In a statement, CBI said the Safety In-charge of Indian Oil Corporation, Ambala cantonment was arrested for demanding and accepting a bribe from a oil tanker operator.
"A case was registered by CBI under Prevention of Corruption Act on a complaint alleging demand of bribe of Rs 6000 by Safety In-charge, Indian Oil Corporation for issuing safety certificate/green cards in respect of five vehicles and oil tankers of the complainant, failing which he will ban the vehicles and oil tankers of the complainant," it said.
CBI laid a trap and the accused was caught while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 6000 from the complainant, it said.
