CBI arrests a Delhi police sub-inspector

The Central Bureau of Investigation on Saturday arrested a Delhi Police sub-inspector for allegedly demanding a bribe of Rs 2.5 lakh.

NEW DELHI: The Central Bureau of Investigation on Saturday arrested a Delhi Police sub-inspector for allegedly demanding a bribe of Rs 2.5 lakh to protect a “suspect” in a case. The accused identified as Tulsiram was posted at Shalimar Bagh police station,said CBI.



According to CBI, Tulsiram had allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs 5 lakh for protecting a “suspect” in a case of violence against domestic help, CBI officials said after negotiations, he had agreed on a sum of Rs 2.5 lakh. The victims complained to CBI after which a trap was laid and sub inspector was arrested while accepting the bribe.
