Cauvery issue: BS Yeddyurappa to launch padayatra on February 7

Govt should discuss Cauvery water issue with the the riparian states to find a solution instead of notifying the order, he insisted.

MYSORE: Karnataka Janata Party supremo B S Yeddyurappa today said he would undertake a padayatra on February 7, urging the Centre not to notify the final order of Cauvery water dispute tribunal.

The Mysore to Bangalore padayatra would be a non- political movement, he told reporters here.

The Central government should discuss Cauvery water issue with the the riparian states to find a solution instead of notifying the order, he insisted.

The Supreme Court had yesterday directed the Centre to notify by February 20 the tribunal's award, specifying quantum of water to be shared by Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Puducherry.
