Cash, properties of over Rs 5 cr seized in raids on 2 officers in Bihar

The Economic Offence wing of Bihar Police today conducted raids on premises of two officers and discovered cash and properties worth over Rs 5 crore from them disproportionate to their known sources of income.

PATNA: The Economic Offence wing of Bihar Police today conducted raids on premises of two officers and discovered cash and properties worth over Rs 5 crore from them disproportionate to their known sources of income.

Raids was conducted by sleuths of Economic Offence wing on premises of executive engineer (road construction) Satyendra Kumar Singh and Assistant Engineer, Irrigation Mukesh Kumar Singh, Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) S K Bhardwaj told reporters.

Cash and properties of over Rs 3.22 crore was seized from the Executive Engineer posted at Khagaria, he said.

The seizure included papers related to purchase of land, house, cash in banks and luxury cars.

In search on Assistant Engineer Mukesh Kumar Singh posted at Araria now cash and properties valued at over Rs 2.50 crore was recovered, Bhardwaj said.

Seizure included purchase of houses, land, cash and vehicles.
