Cash for vote scam: Sanjeev Saxena's assertion may give hard time to Amar Singh, UPA
The govt could find it difficult to stick to its claim that its victory in the Lok Sabha was on account of good governance.
Saxena's admission that Amar Singh's pledged its funds for mobilising support for the then UPA government is certain to raise doubts about the findings of a parlimentary panel that probed the scandal. The panel did not bother to summon Amar Singh or investigate the role that his office played in the bribery case.
Sources in the Delhi Police said its investigators were told by Saxena that the money that he carried to the BJP MPs belonged to Amar Singh. "Amar Singh will be questioned by us either this week or early next week," sources said and added that efforts are being made to get Sanjay, a driver of Amar Singh who had gone to deliver the money at the house of the BJP MP along with Saxena.
