Cash-for-Query: Mahua Moitra asks ethics panel for another date

This comes fater BJP MP Nishikant Dubey and advocate Jai Anant Dehadrai deposed before the panel on Thursday on the allegations made against the Trinamool Congress MP.
Dubey made allegations against Moitra on the information provided by Dehadrai.
After the meeting, the committee chairperson Vinod Kumar Sonkar said the panel has called Moitra to deposed before it on October 31 and has also sought assistance from the ministries of home affairs and IT in probing the allegations.
Expressing her unavailability on October 31, Moitra, in a post on social media platform X, said "Chairman, Ethics Comm announced my 31/10 summons on live TV way before the official letter emailed to me at 19:20 hrs. All complaints & suo moto affidavits also released to the media. I look forward to deposing immediately after my pre- scheduled constituency programmes end on Nov 4."
Moitra also posted the letter she had sent to the chairperson of the committee, where she said that she will be busy with post Vijay Dashami gatherings till November 4 in her constituency in West Bengal's Nadia district. She requested the panel to give her a date and time after November 5.
Sources said it is being considered by the committee and the chairperson will take the decision after consulting the panel members.
