GUWAHATI: Lok Sabha MP and All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) chief Badruddin Ajmal on Thursday said cases of talaq is more in Hindu community than Muslims.

He said that about 68% of the talaqs are in Hindu community whereas in muslim community it is just 26 percent.

Ajmal said that he did not accept the Triple Talaq Bill. The bill will not give justice to muslim women. “We have our Koran, Hadees and Muslim Personal Law Board. We do not accept the triple talaq bill. Government says that in Iran and Pakistan and in other Muslim countries there is no practice of triple talaq. Now will the government also trying to bring a legislation that stones to death if someone found drinking.”


Ajmal questioned why the government is silent mob lynching.
