Case registered for converting tribals to Christianity in Madhya Pradesh
Police registered a case for allegedly converting members of a tribal community to Christianity by offering them jobs and free medical treatment.

Station Road police station in-charge Rajesh Singh Chouhan said a case was registered against Ratlam Christian Council's secretary Jose Mathew and others two days ago, while Mathew was today "taken into custody".
They allegedly carried out the conversion on December 12, which was protested by some Hindu organisations. Sub-divisional magistrate Awdhesh Sharma and superintendent of police P S Ranawat visited the spot and pacified the protesters.
After a probe, a case was registered under the Madhya Pradesh Freedom of Religion Act, 1968, he said.
