JAIPUR: A case of cheating and kidnapping has been registered here against Yoga Guru Ramdev, his aide Acharya Balkrishan and four others following the directive of a court.

An FIR against the six persons was lodged late on Wednesday night with Vishwakarma police station in the city on the court's directive following a complaint by a local transport company.

The transporter, Bajrang Singh, had alleged that a herbal product firm based in Uttarakhand had rented his tanker to transport mustard oil from their unit in Narnaul, Haryana to Jwalapur in Uttarakhand on June 25 but they later kidnapped the driver and the tanker was in their possession.

"When the driver Hanuman did not return after delivery in scheduled period, he (Singh) tried to contact him but the driver was untraceable. The people who had booked the tanker did not give him satisfactory reply about the whereabouts of the tanker and the driver," police said referring to the FIR.

Singh had alleged that the tanker was in Uttarakhand in possession of the six accused, Ramdev, Acharya Balkrishan, Atul, Arun, Gopal and Sonu.

"The complaint was filed against them for cheating, kidnapping and criminal breach of trust under relevant sections of IPC," the police said, adding that investigation into the matter was on.
