Case of cheating against BCCI in Mumbai court

MUMBAI: A member of Jharkhand Cricket Association today filed a complaint with the magistrate's court here against BCCI and its functionaries for "cheating" the public in the wake of spot-fixing scandal.

Complainant Naresh Makani alleges that all the matches of IPL were fixed, and the franchise owners were involved in it.

"The circumstances clearly establish that the matches are not arranged as sporting events but those have been arranged to earn billion dollars wrongfully," reads the complaint.

"Intentions of the organisers and accused named in the complaint was to wrongfully gain money by match fixing and spot fixing those matches," it adds.

The complaint names BCCI functionaries, alongwith Gurunath Meiyappan, the owner of Chennai Super King, arrested by Mumbai police. Makani wants a separate case of cheating registered against them.

The complaint also mentions that a 2012 report on anti-corruption measures, commissioned by International Cricket Council, had stated that IPL was ripe for match fixing to take place.

The complaint would come up for hearing on May 31.
