In its complaint registered on December 13, the Survey of India had said that Google Maps is depicting India's international boundaries in a "wrong" manner, which is not justified, according to Joshi.

It had sought police action in the matter. Survey of India is country's national survey and mapping organisation under the department of Science and Technology.
