Capt Amarinder Singh, Navjot Sidhu pad up in Delhi ahead of upcoming reshuffle

Amid deepening rift in the election-bound Punjab Congress, Chief Minister Amarinder Singh will hold talks with AICC representatives on Tuesday on the upcoming reshuffle of his ministry and the PCC setup. Sulking MLA Navjyot Sidhu too is slated to meet AICC nominees with his latest set of grievances.

The scheduled meeting coincides with Sidhu publicising his grouse against the CM after Singh turned down the cricketer’s pitch to secure the PCC president post or deputy chief ministership. The CM and many party MLAs have been pitching for inclusion of Hindu and Dalit leaders in the reshuffles for better social balance. The AICC has been attempting peace between the CM and Sidhu after Amarinder Singh publicly told the ex-cricketer he could join AAP and contest against the CM.

In another development, Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi has called a meeting of AICC general secretaries and other office bearers to firm up an action plan for a Congress outreach to collect data on Covid-19 patients and casualties across states. The meeting will discuss the next stage of agitation against spiraling fuel prices too, it is learnt.
