Can't provide mid-day meal like facility in hospitals: Uttar Pradesh government

LUCKNOW: Uttar Pradesh government today ruled out providing facility on the lines of primary school mid-day meals to all the hospitals in the state.

"It is not possible to provide food in hospitals like mid-day meal as depending on the disease the requirement of food is different," Minister of state for health Shankhlal Manji said in State Assembly.

He was replying to a question raised by BJP member Satish Mahana during question hour in the Assembly.

The member wanted to know whether food could be provided in hospitals by NGO Akshay Patra like mid-day meals in schools here.
