Can't issue red corner notice against Vijay Mallya: Interpol
The international police agency , sources say, has told investigators that RCN cannot be issued as there is no extradition request or trial going on against Mallya.

According to sources, Interpol, approached by ED on May 12 seeking a global wanted notice, has “raised objection on the ED's request stating there is not enough evidence to issue a RCN against the businessman“.
The international police agency , sources say, has told investigators that RCN cannot be issued as there is no extradition request or trial going on against Mallya.
Sources added that Interpol has also informed the agency that it needs to hear from Vijay Mallya first before going ahead with the notice since it's a case of financial irregularities.
The development comes after the UK refused to deport him recently citing its immigration laws. The In terpol had last year also refused to issue a RCN against former IPL chief Lalit Modi citing lack of evidence.
The ED is now preparing to re-send the RCN request through Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty (MLAT) route which, officials believe, will be sufficient for issuing a RCN against him. Once a RCN is issued, Mallya won't be able to travel anywhere beyond UK and enforcement agencies in Britain would also be legally liable to arrest him and hand him over to India through a proper extradition process. ED is already working on sending an extradition request to Britain.
The 60-year-old, wanted in Rs 900-crore IDBI loan fraud case, fled to London on March 2 this year on his `diplomatic passport'.
