Modi govt and OMCs have often come under attack for not reducing retail oil prices to the extent of the fall of international crude prices.
Retail prices of the day are based on the average price of benchmark international fuel of the preceding fortnight. So, a drop in crude prices will get reflected in retail prices over the next 7-10 days.
