Calcutta HC seeks affidavit from West Bengal Police

The Calcutta High Court on Tuesday directed the state police to submit an affidavit before the court within 10 days about the violence in various districts of West Bengal ahead of the panchayat elections.

The Calcutta High Court on Tuesday directed the state police to submit an affidavit before the court within 10 days about the violence in various districts of West Bengal ahead of the panchayat elections.

The high court lashed out at the state police over its inaction against violence in Bhangar, Kashipur, Haroa Basirhat, Minakha and other places and enquired about the number of arrests made so far.
