CAIT wants PM to discuss traders' issue in 'Mann Ki Baat'
NEW DELHI: Traders body CAIT has requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi to focus on issues related to traders in the next edition of his radio programme 'Mann Ki Baat'.

In an open letter to small businessmen this week, Modi had said that it is their small units which drives the Indian economy in reality and not the large companies.

The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) said the trading community is now expecting better support policies from the government.

"It is a surprise for trading community to see an open letter of Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed to small business brothers and sisters. It is for the first time in the country when any Prime Minister has openly talked about grossly neglected small business and admitted its importance in economy and nation building.

"We have in a letter to Prime Minister urged him to dedicate his next 'Mann Ki Baat' with traders, similar to last episode with farmers," CAIT President B C Bhartia and general secretary Praveen Khandelwal said in a joint press statement.
