Cabinet clears proposal for Prashant Kishore's 'Bihar Vikash Mission'

PATNA: State Cabinet on Monday cleared the proposal for setting up a body called " Bihar Vikash Mission" ( BVM) which aims to ensure proper implementation of the chief minister Nitish Kumar’s "Sushashan Karyakrama" (Good governance programme) in the coming five years.

Election strategist Prashant Kishore, who is now advisor to CM Nitish Kumar on development policies and their implementation, will be associated with the same BVM. Prashant will be member of BVM’s Governing Body headed by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

Apart from CM Nitish Kumar and his advisor Prashant Kishore, Governing Body will accommodate all Ministers, Chief Secretary, Development Commissioner, Director General of Police (DGP), Principal Secretaries/Secretaries of all the departments, Principal Secretary and Secretary to CM and Mission Director of BVM as its members.

Prashant will extend all helps to BVM for achieving its goal. Prashant, who enjoys the status of cabinet minister in his capacity as advisor to CM Nitish Kumar, is likely to play a major role in ensuring the timely implementation of development projects, including Nitish Kumar’s "seven commitments", with the help of same BVM. BVM will facilitate the services of experts to CM’s advisor Prashant Kishore for doing his day-to-day work in order to achieve the BVM’s goal. BVM, which will make its presence felt at ground level, can require services of experts for programme management, technical assistance, monitoring system, simple procedure and hassle-free implementation.
