NEW DELHI: The Union Cabinet today approved agreement between India and Saudi Arabia on Labour Cooperation for the recruitment of the general category of workers.

The pact benefits Indian emigrant workers, especially in the unskilled, semi-skilled and skilled categories.

"The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given its ex-post facto approval for the Agreement on Labour Co-operation between India and Saudi Arabia," a press release said.

According to statement, the Agreement was signed in Riyadh on April 2-3, 2016 during the visit of the Prime Minister to Saudi Arabia.
