SYDNEY: US President George W. Bush said Saturday he would make a speech, expected next week, to defend his strategy in Iraq and urge the war-weary US public to rally behind it.

"I will discuss the changes our strategy has brought to Iraq. I will lay out a vision for future involvement in Iraq -- one that I believe the American people and their elected leaders of both parties can support," he said.

Bush recorded his weekly radio address from Sydney where he was attending a meeting of Asia-Pacific leaders.
