Burhan and Abu Dujana ruling J&K: J&K MLA Engineer Rasheed

JAMMU: Opposition member and legislator from Langate constituency in north Kashmir Engineer Rasheed said that the huge funeral of Burhan Wani, was enough to conclude that while state is ruling through the barrel of gun, Burhan was ruling the hearts of people.

“It is not New Delhi but Burhan and Abu Dujana ( Lashkar-e-Toiba commander) who are ruling the state,” said Rasheed.

The legislator called for conducting plebiscite on both sides of Line of Control for resolving Kashmir issue permanently. He said that J&K was neither integral part of India nor jugular vein of Pakistan. Interestingly, Rashid refers to speaker as Sadr-e-Riyasat and chief minister as Prime Minister, an oblique reference to pre 1975 vocabulary used in the state.

Rasheed said while just few hundred people participated in the funeral of late Chief Minister Mufti Sayes, about fifty thousand participated in the funeral of Abu Qasim, a non state subject, ‘only for the reason that for Kashmiris militants are not terrorists.’

Those citing 1987 rigid elections as a reason to militancy are absolutely wrong, said Rasheed adding, “history is witness to the fact that when people are deprived of their fundamental rights it gives birth to Yasir Arafat, Subash Chandra Bose, Raj Guru or Burhan Wani.”

European Union, United Nations, Pakistan Parliament, Indian Parliament, British Parliament and other International forums, Rasheed said can discuss in length and breadth the different angles of J&K dispute but surprisingly the state Assembly doesn’t collect the courage to ask for resolution of dispute.
