NEW DELHI: The Bulandshahr rape victims’ kin on Saturday moved the Supreme Court, demanding that the probe into the case be transferred to an independent agency and an FIR be registered against UP minister Azam Khan and the state’s top cops for not taking action against the accused and instead harassing and intimidating him to withdraw the case.

Kaushal Kishor, whose wife and daughter were raped while travelling on the Noida-Shahjahanpur road at night, alleged that Khan had belittled the incident as a “political conspiracy”. He also claimed that he was being offered all sorts of inducements to withdraw the case. The petition said: “… the acts and deeds of the respondents have caused serious and substantive infringement of fundamental rights of the petitioner to live a lawful life, right to equality
