New Delhi: Union home minister Amit Shah hailed the budget as 'all-encompassing' and with potential to fulfil Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s pledge of making India a $5 trillion economy. Shah also highlighted the various infrastructure projects announced for poll-bound states West Bengal, Assam, Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

“Preparing the budget this year against the backdrop of the Corona (Covid-19) pandemic was definitely a very complex task. But, under the guidance of Narendra Modi, Nirmala Sitharaman has presented an all-encompassing budget which opens the path towards fulfilling the Prime Minister’s pledge for an Aatmanirbhar Bharat, a $5 trillion economy and doubling the income of farmers,” Shah said in a statement. On incentives for the south and northeast, Shah said the budget will give impetus to growth in these regions.
