Budget 2024: Why Kangana Ranaut and Chirag Paswan are so happy

Both Kangana Ranaut and Chirag Paswan have expressed their satisfaction with the Modi government's Budget 2024, which has given significant focus to their respective states while some states have been overlooked.

Kangana Ranaut, a prominent Bollywood actress turned politician, who recently won the Lok Sabha seat from Mandi in Himachal Pradesh, called the budget "wholesome." She highlighted the relief fund promised for Himachal Pradesh, which suffered extensive flood damage in 2023. "We are very happy with the budget," said Ranaut, emphasizing the positive impact of the announced support for reconstruction through multilateral assistance.

Mandi leader later shared a photo on the Instagram story with Ravi Kishan and Bansuri Swaraj.

Union Minister Chirag Paswan also praised the budget. He acknowledged the special packages allocated to his state. "I want to thank PM Modi and FM Nirmala Sitharaman for providing special packages to the state," the Hajipur MP said.

"As Bihari, I am extremely happy and in this Budget, announcements have been made to build bridges, medical colleges, airports...This Budget will improve the infrastructure as well as the economy of the state..."

The budget includes allocations of over Rs 26,000 crore for highways, Rs 11,500 crore for flood mitigation, two new bridges over the Ganga River, a new airport, and a medical college in Bihar. These developments are expected to enhance the state's infrastructure and economy.

Meanwhile, other political leaders like TMC MP Shatrughan Sinha have offered mixed reviews of the budget. Sinha acknowledged the relief provided for cancer and other life-saving drugs and appreciated the allocations for Bihar and Andhra Pradesh. However, he questioned the lack of focus on states like Telangana, Punjab, and West Bengal.

The budget has outlined several key initiatives for Bihar, aimed at enhancing infrastructure and spiritual tourism. These include:

- Three new expressways
- Development of the Nalanda-Rajgir corridor and Tyagi noted tourist spots
- Transforming the Vishnupad Temple and Mahabodhi Temple into world-class destinations
- Comprehensive development of Rajgir
- Expanding sports infrastructure and facilitating loans for the Bihar government from multilateral institutions

Since Kangana entered Parliament, she and Chirag Paswan have been frequently spotted together, and social media users have taken notice. The pair has been shipped together in numerous posts, and their interactions are closely followed by fans. Recently, they were seen hugging each other on the first day of Parliament; earlier, they arrived hand in hand. Soon after, many posts featuring videos of the duo started circulating on X.

Some users commented that only Chirag Paswan can handle Kangana now. In an interview, Chirag mentioned that the actress is not always politically correct, adding to the ongoing social media buzz about their relationship.
