MUMBAI: Welcoming the Union Budget, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis today said the Narendra Modi government has "walked the talk" while presenting a "visionary budget".

"Modi govt walks the talk. Thank you @narendramodi ji and @arunjaitley ji for giving a visionary budget in difficult times. Congrats @arunjaitley Ji for changing direction of budget speech from small geographic & sectoral announcement to broad focus plan," Fadnavis said.

"The social sector spending is not only increased but planned in targeted direction to ensure the quality of expenditure and outcome," the CM tweeted.

"The huge infra spending will create jobs and fuel growth while target of doubling farm income will change the future of the nation," he said.

Fadnavis noted that the Budget addresses the real challenges before the nation and is pro-poor, pro-farmer along with being growth-oriented.

"The nine pillars of Budget based on development in agri, rural and infrastructure sector will achieve real inclusive growth," he added.
